Due to the retirement of two long-standing members of our faculty, University of Central Arkansas Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking applicants for two Assistant/Associate Professors (9-month, tenure-track positions).  Competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications.  Preferred start date is August 2014.  Qualifications include PhD in speech-language pathology, speech and hearing sciences or related field (CCC-SLP or CCC-A and eligibility for Arkansas licensure).  Preference will be given to individuals with teaching/research interests in the areas of articulation, phonology, cleft palate, as well as voice/speech science, swallowing.

The two positions are 9-month tenure track appointments (with the option of summer employment), beginning Fall 2014.  The University is committed to supporting faculty research agendas and provides opportunities for reduced teaching assignments, start-up packages, research facilities, graduate research assistants, and opportunities for internal research awards.

Responsibilities in this speech-pathology only department include undergraduate and graduate teaching in areas of expertise; development of dynamic research program; supervision and mentoring of master's and doctoral students; and service to the department and University.  UCA Communication Sciences and Disorders is in the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, is CAA accredited and offers a doctoral degree through a consortium in Communication Sciences and Disorders with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the University of Arkansas Little Rock.

UCA is a comprehensive regional university with approximately 11,500 students and high academic standards.  The campus is noted for its beauty and is conveniently located in Conway, a rapidly growing city of 60,000, thirty minutes from Little Rock and Ozark Mountains, and home to two private colleges, a public school system ranked among the state's best, and a strong K-12 parochial school.  Real estate in this dynamic "City of Colleges" is moderately priced and taxes are low.
